Polyurethane Leather

Polyurethane leather, usually referred to as PU leather, is probably the most common type of vegan leather. It has been used for quite some time now, with its main applications being in the engineering and construction fields. Currently, however, it is used widely to make vegan leather products. Its popularity is based on how durable the material is. However, it does not necessarily have the same feel as leather as it feels a little more artificial, but it has a similar appearance.

Pinatex

Pinatex is also usually referred to as pineapple leather. It is a fabric made from the leaves of a pineapple plant after the pineapples have been harvested. The process of manufacturing pinatex involves extracting fibre from the pineapple leaves, which is what is used as the core ingredient. That makes it a lot more natural and eco-friendly compared to PU leather.

PVC Leather

PVC leather is also considered vegan leather, though it is more of a plastic-like material. Concerning the look and feel, it is almost similar to PU leather. The main difference is that more chemicals are used during the manufacturing process, including some which are toxic such as dioxin. Although it is still vegan leather, it is not highly regarded as an optimal replacement for leather.

Mushroom leather a natural product that is a great leather replacement, made from mycelium. It is quite versatile regarding usage and is also very long-lasting.
